PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS:
TRAINING SQUADS
HONU SQUADS (WATERMANS SAFETY, SKILLS & STEWARDSHIP)
This is for our junior "waterman" needing close instruction to develop skills and find their passion in a safe, fun environment while learning new WATERMANS Safety, Skills and Stewardship & progressing through the IKAIKA WATERMANS SAFETY,SKILLS & STEWARDSHIP AWARD! They will learn life lessons within the IKAIKA pillars SAFE, FUN LEARNING as well as physical, mental and emotional confidence. The curriculum is developed within the ASPIRE philosophy and covers all age appropriate personal development & health learning outcomes.
Some of the activities include: Developing skills in watermans sports activities & craft: kayaking, surfski, outrigger, rowing, waterpolo, , paddle boards, surf skills, balance activities, safety & rescue skills, ocean swimming, & much more!

WIKI WIKI SQUADS (MEANS "FAST")
These squads are for our young "waterman" to increase their individual skills in different watercraft, safety skills & overall confidence! We have WIKI WIKI Squads focused on Representative Canoe & Kayak Racing for those wanting to represent their families, IKAIKA HAWAII & the United States in National and International Competition, squads to focus on ILH surfski (kayaking) and ILH Paddling as well as a squad for those wanting to train in all watermans activities to develop all areas of personal performance. All squads will follow curriculum developed within the IKAIKA pillars SAFETY FIRST, with fun learning and our leadership will always be developing the ASPIRE philosophy! Athletes from these squads will be chosen for our RACING TEAM & MAKO SQUAD. These athletes will have their own paddle & may buy or rent their own craft from Ikaika.

MAKO SQUADS
This program is for the trained athlete wanting to take canoeing & kayaking to the next level! These athletes are aspiring to represent at a national and international level. Striving for USA selection in Olympic Hopes, World Championship and Olympic Competition.
They train from 4-12 session a week with individualized programs and extra sessions to develop champion skills for the holistic athlete. This training program is great college prep as well as for those pushing personal limits in athletic and time management abilities! The ASPIRE philosophy continues to be the grounding of both leadership and athlete development. These athletes will have their own paddle & their own main craft or rent craft from Ikaika.

“FIT & FABULOUS” SQUAD (20yrs and above)
This program is for adults wanting fun, fitness, technique, and knowledge on healthy lifestyle living! Everything from land training, resistance & gym training, SUP, paddle boards, surf ski, kayak & outrigger all at your level from beginner to competition.
WITH MANY NATIONAL MEDALLISTS. This program included 3 sessions a week of expert coaching MONDAY/WEDNESDAY& THURSDAY 5:30-6:45pm and several other available sessions with coach approval as well as use of equipment. ( within the IKAIKA safety guidelines and coach approval.)
SILVER PAYMENT LEVEL : 3x 1hr or 1x1hr & 1x 2hr per week. 12 hrs a month $150 p/month ($12.50ph)

CLINIC: Looking for College Opportunities? In this comprehensive rowing clinic you will learn all you need to decide if college rowing is for you! It will give you a comprehensive understanding of the benefits of a great team water sport! Get to sit inside a rowing shell and learn how to apply power on the rowing machine (called an erg), as well as about the pathway to being recruited to college. You will all develop the IKAIKA pillars and WATERMANS SAFETY and our leadership coaching team is always developing the ASPIRE philosophy!
SQUAD: Rowing Squads is for year-round high school aged athletes looking to take rowing to the next level, as well as represent Hawaii in mainland regattas.

ASPIRE COACH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM (12 & UP)
This unique program is has been developed to foster the positive leadership qualities in our keiki and allow them to thrive on new positive skills, & responsibilities, to develop each individual into a compassionate, knowledgable, safety conscious leader and sharing the ASPIRE PHILOSOPHY. They develop the knowledge and skills to provide leadership in the founding focus pillars of IKAIKA'S programs:
I will be safe! I will have fun and I will learn something new!
Those selected for this youth leadership program will develop skills in teamwork, positive communication and effective, safe, group management as well as leading and coaching watermans activities all within the ASPIRE PHILOSOPHY
ATTITUDE, SPORTSMANSHIP, PERSEVERANCE, INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY, RESPECT & ENJOYMENT! This pathway includes training, volunteering hours and employment opportunities.
WATERMAN'S ACADEMY AGES (6-14 years) HOLIDAY PROGRAM
3-5 DAY ACADEMY SESSIONS: Learn to be a “Hawaiian Waterman”. Improve your skills in surf ski, kayak, paddle boards, SUP, Outrigger, rowing, waterpolo and more! With qualified coaching, and focus on safe, fun, learning water activities its a fabulous educational, and physical experience for all kids!
